Okay so somewhere along the way you quietly became the answer key. Every little question routes to you, every judgment call waits on you, and the team is genuinely good, but the how lives in your head, so nothing final ships until you’ve touched it. And I know the reflex, the reflex is to hire. But if the knowledge is still stuck in your head, a bigger team just means more people standing in line for you. That’s not more capacity. That’s the same bottleneck with a longer queue.

So don’t write it. Talk it. Open the little voice button or your phone’s dictation, pull up your AI, and brief it the way you’d walk somebody through the job over coffee on their first morning. How you actually price the strange request. Which clients you quietly pass on, and why. What makes an email genuinely ready to send. You’ll get more out in 5 minutes of talking than an hour of typing, because you’re describing the decisions the way you really make them, not translating them into neat little sentences for a document. (I do this in my car, out loud, looking slightly unhinged to whoever’s at the stoplight next to me.)

Then hand it the part you were dreading. Ask it to turn what you just said into a real process, a checklist, a decision rule, and it hands the structure back cleaned up. You edit. The how just left your head and you didn’t write a word.

Feed it your business and it drafts like you, not like everyone

Once you’ve talked your decisions through, your AI finally has the one thing it was always missing, which is your context. Now it can take the first pass at the report, the reply, the onboarding note, using your standards instead of the generic internet ones. You stop making everything and start reviewing it. And that shift, from doing to deciding, is what running without you actually feels like on a random Tuesday.
